President-Elect, John Dramani Mahama has nominated Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin as the Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
This was contained in a statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a Special Aide to the President-Elect, John Dramani Mahama.
The President-elect asserted that Mr Bagbin has distinguished himself in the service of Parliament, Rising from Member of Parliament for Nadowli to Minority and Majority leader respectively, and subsequently as Speaker of the 8th Parliament.
The statement further stated that Mr. Bagbin brings a wealth of experience to the position, which will prove vital in steering the affairs of parliament at this crucial period in Ghana’s democratic and legislative development.
