Gov’t Pays School Feeding Caterers Second Term Arrears

The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) Secretariat has settled all arrears owed to caterers for the second term of the 2024/2025 academic year.

Caterers are receiving GH¢2.00 per child per day before tax for 68 cooking days, calculated based on the number of days they provided meals to pupils. The payment also serves as the final settlement for caterers recently disengaged from the programme, except for those with outstanding issues under review.

In a statement, National Coordinator Hajia Fati Forgor expressed appreciation to government for the timely release of funds and the upward adjustment of the feeding grant. She also acknowledged donor partners for their continued support.

“This action reaffirms government’s dedication to the welfare of caterers and the sustainability of the programme,” she said.

The GSFP, under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, aims to enhance child nutrition, improve school enrolment and attendance, and promote local agriculture by sourcing produce from Ghanaian farmers.
